THE HIP HOP FOUNDATION

The Hip Hop Foundation of Philadelphia is a nonprofit organization using Hip Hop culture, live events, media, education and community partnerships to create opportunities for independent artists and Philadelphia communities.

Volunteers and interns help us document events, develop nonprofit programs, support fundraising efforts, produce community media, coordinate live experiences and expand the reach of our mission.

Assignments vary according to the opportunity, project schedule and applicant’s experience. Some roles may be project-based, while others may require recurring participation.

Photography volunteers and interns may assist with event coverage, portrait photography, behind-the-scenes content, photo selection, editing, watermarking and digital asset organization.

Applicants should provide a portfolio or examples of their work. Access to a camera or dependable mobile photography setup may be required for some assignments.

Videography and Video Production Internships

Help document the people, programs and community stories connected to The Hip Hop Foundation.

Videography assignments may include filming interviews, recording live performances, capturing community events, setting up lighting and sound, editing short-form videos and preparing content for websites and social media.

Applicants with experience using cameras, mobile production equipment, editing software, lighting or audio equipment are encouraged to apply. Emerging videographers who are committed to learning may also be considered.

General Volunteer Support

You do not need to be a photographer, videographer, event planner or grant writer to support our mission.

General volunteers may assist with event registration, community outreach, artist check-in, guest support, merchandise tables, audience surveys, event setup, breakdown and other project-based assignments.
