THE ORGINS OF LYRICALLY FIT

One night in the Spring of 2007 on the IIour Show UnCut on WNJC 1360am Washington Township New Jersey, a Young Godhead The General & T.H.E. was broadcasting live. There was no Facebook, no Twitter or Instagram, and Youtube was not what it is today. Google was not even an official search engine. Social media was nothing but an idea. It was only Myspace.com and that's really about it. The IIour Show was only on air for about 3 years, but its listening base hit over 1.5 million households in Philadelphia, New Jersey, & Delaware counties through WNJC's 1360am sound scan data. At the time, DJ Soulbuck & Tasty Stacy were not members of the IIour Show UnCut family yet. That's when shows board engineer, Vincent Bonfigli AKA Vulgar Vinnie picked up the call from a guy named Jay Grady. No one knew who this guy was but the IIour Show host still put him on live on air. "I wanna put on a Hip Hop Showcase with indie artists and classic artists", Jay said. "Do you think you can help me out, maybe even host some shows"?

And that's how it happened. Live on the air networking. The legend of Lyrically Fit began by one man calling an indie radio show he was listening to in his home town. He had an idea and we saw his vision. Long live the Culture. Long Live Hip Hop.
